Posology
Lantus contains insulin glargine, an insulin analogue, and has a prolonged duration of action.

People with diabetes now have access to a low-cost insulin from Walmart. The multinational retail corporation on Tuesday released its private brand of analog insulin, ReliOn NovoLog.
Walmart said the private brand insulin offers an affordable solution for people struggling to pay for diabetes treatments as its prices are up to 75% lower than those of competing products.
ReliOn NovoLog is a short-acting insulin, which people typically take before meals to help people regulate spikes in blood sugar. Short-acting insulins are taken multiple times a day, usually before meals, and produce spikes or peaks in blood sugar.
Other types of insulin, like long-acting insulins, may be taken less often, and more steadily regulate blood sugar levels throughout the day. Short-acting and long-acting insulins are typically taken alongside each other.

To make nonprescription insulin more accessible to patients, one of the top manufacturers of insulin began working with community pharmacy chains. The private label insulin is labeled to indicate that the product can only be sold by the chain The drugs retail price for patients is often below the wholesale price of other insulin products sold to pharmacies.
Criminals posing as patients purchase this insulin at the retail pharmacies, collect it in large quantities, and resell it into the wholesale market. Wholesalers purchase this diverted insulin and resell it to retail pharmacies and, in some cases, to other wholesalers. This deliberate scheme to subvert the regulated supply chain is exposing patients to the high risk of receiving an adulterated drug in the form of subpotent insulin.
To combat this nationwide problem, Georgia enacted a law that criminalizes the resale of nonprescription insulin that a patient first obtained through an OTC sale. Insulin sold in this manner is deemed adulterated under the law.
The risks with this type of corrupt distribution are very high for patients, as they are receiving and injecting potentially adulterated insulin that is very likely subpotent. The storage and handling of this diverted insulin are completely unknown to patients and should be questioned by distributors.

They can also plug in payment options and delivery information in advance of prescription approval. Amazon is offering unlimited, free, two-day delivery for Prime members, and four- to five-day delivery for non-Prime members.
For customer privacy, the shipments are sent in discreet packaging to not disclose that they contain medications, Amazon says.
Customers also have online self-service help options as well as customer care phone access at any time, and actual pharmacists are available 24/7 to answer any questions about medications.

With all of the attention currently placed on prescription drug prices, its difficult to believe that a major retail distributor of medications would do anything but toe the proverbial line when it comes to sales practices. However, last month, Walgreens was ordered to pay more than $270 million for improperly billing Medicare, Medicaid and other state- and federal-level programs over the course of 10 years.
The suit is broken down into two components. In one part, the company has been ordered to pay $209.2 million for improper billing practices surrounding the dispensation of hundreds of thousands of insulin pens to patients between 2006 and 2017. In the second part of the settlement, the company will pay $60 million for overcharging Medicaid between 2008 and 2017 for failure to disclose and charge the same prices it offered through its Prescription Savings Club program.
But here is the kicker: Walgreens settled a similar lawsuit for upwards of $50 million that resulted from similar offenses with the Prescription Savings Club program last year.

Diabetic Denied Syringes At Walmart Pharmacy Calls 12
RICHMOND, VA – A diabetic trying to buy syringes says a trip to the Brook Road Walmart turned into a nightmare that nearly jeopardized his life.
Jacob Fleming says the pharmacist made assumptions about him and refused to sell him syringes he needed for insulin. NBC 12 On Your Side talked with both sides of the complaint.
Fleming believes Walmart discriminated against him. Walmart corporate says its pharmacist could not verify the needles were for a legitimate purpose.
You don’t need a prescription to purchase syringes over-the-counter in Virginia, but you do have to show a history of your insulin dependency.
“I showed him all of my vials,” said Fleming. “I showed him my other prescriptions, my lisinopril. Did he ask for them? No, I just showed him to let him know, because all those things are associated with diabetes.”
Fleming says he was led to believe he was being taken care of, only to be denied after waiting twenty minutes.
“I could have went into a coma or died. Really. It’s that serious. I knew how my body was reacting, and I said all I need to do is just get some insulin,” said Fleming. “Basically my legs, my thighs, my muscles were starting to tighten up. I was beginning to have acid reflux, which is a sign of ketoacidosis.”
“He’s saying, ‘is this another guy in my area just trying to get needles to do drugs?’ Yes, I had everything. I have a list of papers showing that I’m diabetic, and it’s like the good people being punished for the bad people.”
